"When creating a portrait, my aim is to create an image that conveys the energy and mood of that person, as I experienced them. As well as creating a map of their face, at a particular point in time, in a particular light and from a particular viewpoint; It's more than the expression.

It's what they bring, what they are carrying around, their self image; It's what they want to communicate about who they are.

"For me, a great shot is an image that can carry accross something of that message from the reality to the viewer, accross time, place and culture."
